Description

Jackfruit contains a lot of sugar and a high amount of calories.

In terms of nutritional value, each ripe jackfruit flesh contains 0.6-1.5% of protein (depending on the type of jackfruit), 11-14% of glucid (including monosaccharides such as fructose and glucose that are easily absorbed into the body), carotene, vitamins C, B2, and minerals such as iron, calcium, phosphorus, etc.

According to the nutritional composition of Vietnamese food, 100g of jackfruit contains 48kcal, 85.4g of water, 0.6g of protein, 11.4g of glucose, 21mg of calcium, 28mg of phosphorus, 0.40mg of iron, 180mg of beta-carotene, 5mg of vitamin C, phosphorus, vitamin B and others.

Many studies show that foods rich in potassium which is very abundant in jackfruit, are useful to lower blood pressure. 100g of jackfruit contains up to 300mg, and many phytonutrients (lignans, isoflavones, and saponins) which are very beneficial for health, anti-cancer, hypertension, and stomach ulcers, as well as slowing down cell degeneration, and improving skin vitality.
